Review on Maxxima M09300RAS Round Clearance Auxiliary by Justin Jeppi

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked very well for me

So here's a quick rundown of the Maxxima LED parking and turn signal/brake lights. I did a little experiment. The gap/marker only version of this light is the two wire M09300Y. This version of the M09300YAT has three wires going into the light; Red black and white. The WHITE wire is ground. The RED wire provides full brightness and the BLACK wire provides reduced brightness. The package reports drawing at 45 mA (bright) and 15 mA (diminished). The black thing in the middle of the cable in the picture that looks like a connector (but isn't one) is some sort of low brightness control circuit, as you can see through the clear amber plastic that there are actually only two of the wires that it enters the light. . This circuit is marked as made in South Korea. I've compared it alongside the M09300Y and they look equally bright with the M09300YAT running on the red wire. As expected, the M09300YAT is noticeably dimmer when powered via the black cable. Keep this in mind when mixing light models so you don't end up with a discrepancy. I believe the red lens models behave the same way. They are easier to install by pushing in from the front, but can be manipulated from the rear if necessary by removing the grommet and inserting the LED module through the hole from the rear. Hole 3/4 inch. Then pull the grommet over the LED and mount the grommet in the bezel and then proceed as if you were to front mount the light. The diameter of the lantern without the bushing is approximately 0.728 inches. These are both good bright compact low current lights. I use them on a quad and they seem sturdy and well sealed. Time will tell about the durability.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
