Just used this for a long trip (350 miles) with a trunk full of luggage. I drove at speeds on the freeway - 70 miles per hour and sometimes more. It didn't rain because it was a hot August day. So I don't know anything about water resistance, although the fabric has an inner coating to keep out the rain. It fits two suitcases very comfortably, but there could have been more space. However, I would have liked the straps to be tighter. They look flimsy with eight poor quality fasteners and it looks like they won't hold up. The trunk is quite large when full and unless it fits on the roof rack bars like in my situation only the straps hold the trunk. I would like to see slightly wider and heavier straps with strong buckles that snap tightly. It worked fine but I'm deducting a star for the straps.
