I live in the South West and bought this for my BMW R1100RT motorcycle which has no air conditioning so I wanted to measure the riding conditions for dehydration etc. for safety reasons when riding. I ordered a 4 pin version which includes a hygrometer (humidity) function, pulled out the Fahrenheit jumper on the back, cut off the PC connector, installed it in a US-SA-AJD-203842-Uxcell- box and connected the red-black wires to the 12V battery. This is exactly what Kenis described and exactly what I needed. To keep your expectations low, all documentation you will receive (and need) is in the product description above. The red/black wires were connected to 5V on the PC port and although it was supposed to have "Wide working voltage: DC4-25V or USB 5V" I asked Keynice to confirm that it was for the 12V -Automotive use is safe (I'm pretty sure it is). ) .
