Review on Inkbird IHT-1P Instant Read Meat Thermometer: Digital Waterproof Rechargeable Food Thermometer with Calibration, Magnet, Backlight – Perfect for Grill, Smoker, Kitchen, Turkey by Kara Torres

I originally bought an Inkbird Inkbird HET-F001 instant digital thermometer and have recently bought the new generation, the Inkbird IHT-1P. Inkbird IHT-1P Instant Digital Thermometer The thermometer is much better than the previous generation thermometer in many ways. Response time has improved a lot and I noticed that it usually takes around 4 seconds to set the temperature. I live at 1214 feet above sea level. The boiling point of water at this altitude is 209.572°F. Although I haven't calibrated this thermometer yet, my test results were pretty good. A dedicated menu lets you calibrate it anywhere from ±0.1°F/°C in increments up to ±5°F/°C. This is a great feature for those who live at higher elevations. The thermometer is more ergonomic than the previous model, handier and slightly smaller. One thing that will stand out upon opening is the new color complemented by a great bright display. There is now a dedicated button to toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, unlike the previous model which had a switch in the battery compartment and like its predecessor has a 10 minute auto shut off timer. As soon as you pull out the probe, the thermometer turns on with a nice bright display. As soon as you flip the sensor 45 degrees or less, it turns itself off, which is really nice. I just wish the probe movement was a little smoother. The thermometer is also equipped with a temperature hold button. Press once and it will stop measuring and save the last temperature read. Click again and it will continue. I'd also like to mention that the probe sends a reading every half second, not that it matters when grilling but thought I'd mention it. This thermometer has two magnets on the back, both strong and well positioned to hold this thermometer against a metal object at any angle. The new thermometer is also IPx5 waterproof which means it will not be damaged by spraying/soaking with a water hose/rain. This thermometer has an internal battery that you can charge with the included USB-C cable, which I think is a good selling point. Overall, this is a great instant thermometer for the money. With all its features and great price, I can't think of a reason not to buy it.
