Review on Osprey Duro Solo Running Hydration Waist Pack by Curtis Domus

Unusual to wear on hip, phone area is small

I'm writing this as a huge Osprey fan, but this is my least favorite Osprey product. I use it for day hikes, not running. Inserting and removing the water bottle (included) is normal, it is a problem with some backpacks. The water bottle itself is the perfect size for my walks (5-8 miles). Space for a phone is a bit small. I am using Galaxy 10e. It fits easily if you phrase it a certain way. I sometimes use a headphone amp and that works, but with a little persuasion. Hip phone calls are not very good. I can't turn far enough to see the screen, so I have to tie the belt around my waist. It's not that easy when it's tight, so I usually loosen the belt. Now re-tensioning the belt is not as easy as it should be. You have to pull the loop and then push the lever to lock it. Since part of the belt has elastic, I find I need to tighten it. Why not just use regular straps? Once in place, they tend to slip off and need tightening, especially when the water bottle is full. Maybe running will do better.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • I really don't like it, everything is fine
