It turned out that one of my original cables had a cut in the plastic causing a rusty bulge and the other cable could probably get wet to loosen it but it was worth $15. piece, so I will replace both. I ordered two and they came in separate but identical Dorman branded boxes. Opened them up and the cables were different. Check the part number of each one and yes they were the same. One had a metal piece that slipped into the caliper and the original clip fit right in, the other had a plastic piece that went into the caliper and the original clip sort of fit in. The cable with the plastic piece was fitted into the tube without modification, but the metal piece of cable had to be removed from the tube to expand the tube a bit. The pipe was drilled out with two drill bits, each 1/32 inch up. Once the installation is complete and the slack is taken care of, they will work. Two stars deducted due to installation and differences in both cables.
