Because they are relatively cheap. My time is worth something. No need to buy an automated tablet that costs a lot and takes up space to connect. frankly, for us to endure. o We normally screen/filter the litter once a week and have had no odor issues. o Our little diva is a bit spoiled and loves to keep her litter box clean and tidy so we screen/filter 2 times a week.
