Not suitable for computer accessories and peripherals

I can move the screen from my laptop to my TV. Although the TV only shows the rear screen of the laptop. When I try to play the movie it only plays on the laptop and not on the TV. They are out of sync for some reason. HDMI with samsung s10e or chromebook says it's compatible so it should work, it doesn't.
