Review on ๐Ÿ–จ๏ธ Scangle SGT-88IV Desktop USB Direct Thermal POS Receipt Printer - Multi-port Compatibility for Windows, Linux, and Android by Jeremy Gums

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best value for money.

The benefit of this Scangle SGT-88IV WIFI thermal receipt printer is that it is half the price of the leading receipt printer brands such as Epson and Star Micronics, the quality is good, looks great, has USB , ethernet and serial port, and next to the wifi connection, the wifi connection is the first thing we consider for a new POS printer, and then comes to the ethernet port for a fallback solution if our WiFi router goes down (Note: As more and more devices connect to the network, the legacy Verizon quantum gateway is struggling to keep up with the growing network demand, we have to restart the gateway route a few times a day to refreshing our memory so we can reconnect) and it has a built in kitchen buzzer which is a plus, I have a kitchen buzzer BU01-24-A for my tsp143iiiw star for about $29 now ver buy it for 39$ dollars on amazon, on star tsp after using buzzer port you can't use for cash drawer and then print speed on scangle sgt-88iv is much faster than star tsp143iiiw. What's not good enough is that it's not a vertical design, there's no reverse pressure (maybe I didn't find it) and installation is more difficult than ever, but don't be alarmed, the value for money is one worth trying. My first computer used USB for installation, after installation you need to go to the printer properties to select which USB port to properly connect to the printer, ensure you can print from the printer, then the PrinterSetting Tool .exe, run usb-> tick > enter the para parameter, then go to Wi-Fi setup, change the SSID to your network SSID and enter the password, assign the printer your preferred IP address and click Install. Make a note of the IP address and restart the printer. Then go back to the printer control panel and device settings, delete the newly installed printer, run SGT-88IVSetup.exe again, this time select the Ethernet mode to install and enter the IP, then you are done . . On my second computer I just run the install in ethernet mode and that's it. The rest is to specify which printer is used for which copy of the receipt or kitchen ticket. I hope this information is useful to you.
