Among available choices, this one offers the finest balance of cost and quality. We were able to cut back on expenses by simplifying the hull and using as little materials as possible. This laptop is not for you if you are accustomed to treating your laptop "frivolously," that is, if you close the lid carelessly (rapidly, unevenly), if you do not take precautions to prevent scratches, etc. I'm exaggerating, but you get the idea: the case is as flimsy as cardboard. Even the touchpad "walks." All other considerations aside, it offers the finest value available. I want to stress that the issue is not with the assembly quality (which is OK) but with minimizing the cost of the case materials as much as possible. The keyboard is the finest I've seen on a laptop, with dedicated buttons for left, right, up, and down. A backlight, however, is absent. It turns out this is a rather major factor. For my part, I'm completely content. As I mentioned, I was aware of these caveats before making a purchase and was not surprised by them.
