This thing is pretty expensive and pretty thin but once installed it does the job. I have a 1988 Toyota Dolphin. The vent for the extractor hood above the stove was just a louvered flat panel which over the years had leaked and damaged the wall. I had to trim it to fit. With the oscillating tool I cut off the part that goes into the wall. I also had to enlarge the original hole in the wall. Sounds like a lot of work, but it was actually quite easy. I installed it with screws, caulk and butyl tape and when the project was complete it was pretty solid and looked like it was going to be there forever. Best of all, no more leaks!
