Fits and works BUT ugly after 2.5 years.

long-term viewing. I installed this in December 2014. As of today in August 2017, it looks terrible! Yellowed and moldy. Looks worse than the old one I replaced. I will try another brand.

  • hands-free operation

Thin and without screws

The addition of 10 screws would cost a nice penny? Didn't expect such a cheap product. I see the need to replace it sooner rather than later. I also ordered a 24" hood from Ventline. Now I'm wondering if that would be flimsy garbage too!

  • Trial period for one year

Quick and easy replacement or installation

Hardware (screws) not included. Sealant or butyl tape may also be required. Pretty easy installation: remove the panel (4 screws go through the panel to the bottom of the cabinet), trace the outline of the vent insert on the inside wall where the hood meets the wall, drill 3/8" holes in it the wall at the corners of the contour, cut out the contour from the inside, stick it into the wall, saw out the contour from the outside, seal the wing frame with sealing compound/butyl tape, press the wing…

Very cheap and weak fasteners.

This ventilation discolours only a year after installation, turns yellow. The little handles that close the lid when your microwave/convection oven isn't in use or when traveling are small, flimsy, cheap plastic handles that fall out and break, making the lid pop in the wind. I could deal with the discoloration, I'll just paint it, but the extremely flimsy valve closers are REALLY bad design. I don't like giving bad reviews, but I make a better product and ask a little more of the guys. This is

No more leaks! I made it

This thing is pretty expensive and pretty thin but once installed it does the job. I have a 1988 Toyota Dolphin. The vent for the extractor hood above the stove was just a louvered flat panel which over the years had leaked and damaged the wall. I had to trim it to fit. With the oscillating tool I cut off the part that goes into the wall. I also had to enlarge the original hole in the wall. Sounds like a lot of work, but it was actually quite easy. I installed it with screws, caulk and butyl…

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Can't remember

Here's another great product that can be replaced after about ten years at a good price. In my case, Polor White faded to a duller yellow in the scorching Texas sun. As a do-it-yourselfer I found it very easy to swap out at a fantastic price which helped restore the road side of my RV to like new condition. In addition to the discoloration, both clips were dry rotted, causing the lid to dangle when moved unless I taped it down. When making an initial investment in a motorhome, things don't…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Almost never

The price is right, it seems right.

To be fair, this new vent design is better than the original vent on our 2011 Coachmen Freedom Express. This does not mean that it is excellent ventilation. He's just better than the horrible one he replaced. The footprint of the new air vent is smaller than the original and each original left and right side screw hole was half exposed but was easily covered with white silicone caulk. The REAL air nozzle perfectly matched the original trailers and matched perfectly. This vent has a nice sealant

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Unreliable

Exactly the same as the factory OEM ventline fan.

Like most of these plastic deflectors, the sun has yellowed them. Mine too. That's why I bought this vent. I did some research to find the make and model number of my factory vent. My factory vent was a Ventline V2111-13. Since this vent has the exact same mfg number and model, I didn't expect anything different. This vent is not a cheaper or upgraded or improved vent. This is the exact same vent as the original vent that came factory installed on my 2012 Montana fifth wheel bike so I'm very…
