Combination of good and bad components

I bought a pair of these stands to support a pair of quality bookshelf speakers (kef LS 50) in a temporary home. Unfortunately, the functionality of these stands is hampered by at least one very poor design choice and erratic build quality. Specifically on the individual components: 1. I think the blades are ok and would have gotten the grade 2 if one of the eight places where the spikes had to go was not defective and the spike could be stuck through. , just by holding it in a vise and applying force. significant strength. Unfortunately, this spoiled the look of the lace. The manufacturer/supplier may benefit from making the holes and threads directly in the bases rather than in the conductive channels. Other reviews show that I'm not the only one with this problem.2. The vertical supports are excellent (A-5) and can be covered with sand to control resonance. points five,3. The speaker baseplates are terrible. They consist of a very thin plate and are not completely flat. Because they are so thin, they "ring" horribly and loudly. The stands would be much better if those base plates were both thicker and slightly larger. Unfortunately, this is the part that is in direct contact with the speaker. The posts would be easy to assemble if the base threads were properly made. I rate the stability as very bad due to the very thin cover plate.
