It can get hot in California. very hot. It took a summer to drain the tiny DVR battery, thankfully this handy OBD cable now saves it from dying and prevents video damage. I have a somewhat modern car with a good battery had to cut a tiny hole in my plastic panel for this but I had clean cutting tools, looks perfect! or should I say you can't even tell the cable is there! (something nobody told me about, recommend buying "endurance sd" for dash cams to avoid recording problems)
