As written in another review. This drains your battery! 😡 I have a brand new Tacoma 19 and if you leave it on after a long time say overnight you will wake up with a dead battery. Really disappointed.

Easy installation and great interaction with the Vantrue camera. I only marked it with an asterisk because if it were a bit longer, about 6 inches, it would make wiring even easier. But I managed to get it and hide it well so don't worry and I recommend it.

The first few months worked like a dream. Not sure what has changed although my car battery has died twice in the last week which required a jump. All car headlights/other accessories are off. The moment I disconnected it from OBD, there was no dead battery in my car. 2 stars because it was perfect for the first few months.

Avoid wired headaches by simply plugging them into the OBD port. Works as advertised for my 2018 Honda Civic SI and I am very satisfied. EDIT: The car was left alone for 3 days and the battery was completely drained. Tried it on my wife's Integra 2001, also the battery died within a few days. AVOID

i wanted to get rid of the cigarette lighter plug that came with my vantrue dvr because the plug lost connection with the power supply and the camera kept turning off and i had to unplug it figure it out and set it to turn the camera back on, which is very annoying and distracting while driving. This cable was easy to install, and the flat surface of the cable made it fairly easy to insert between the side panel and the molding, leaving the cable completely invisible.

It can get hot in California. very hot. It took a summer to drain the tiny DVR battery, thankfully this handy OBD cable now saves it from dying and prevents video damage. I have a somewhat modern car with a good battery had to cut a tiny hole in my plastic panel for this but I had clean cutting tools, looks perfect! or should I say you can't even tell the cable is there! (something nobody told me about, recommend buying "endurance sd" for dash cams to avoid recording problems)

I wasn't sure if this would work with the 2020 BMW X1 as BMWs usually have ODBII alarms. This is to ensure that no one with a laptop or similar device can take control of the vehicle.
