Review on Crosse Technology WT 8002U Digital Clock by Ray Mcknight

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very well within its design constraints.

At first I noticed a lot of negative reviews about this watch, which focused on the fact that it is made of plastic (now everything in the world is made of plastic), the LCD screen does not have great viewing angles ( LCD screens are designed for ) and without a backlight (the description clearly states that there is no backlight, so why whine about it). When you buy something, read the description and reviews and know the limitations of what you are buying. I guess in the me culture we live in asking for an ordinary sheep is too much to ask. Anyway, I bought this watch for an elderly disabled relative who was housebound almost a year ago. She always had a cable box on top of the television to tell her the time, but she became so poor that she could no longer afford cable television. Disabled and housebound, one day merges into the next until she has to struggle to figure out not only the date but also the day of the week. Sometimes it could be day or night depending on when it got dark outside. To meet those needs, this watch was a lifesaver. Accompanied by a simple monthly calendar printed free of charge from the Internet and she has this and that clock mounted side by side on the wall above the table next to her day chair, she now knows at a glance when it is morning or evening, the date she is with can compare the calendar next to the clock and what day of the week it is. And I can quickly check temperature readings to make sure I've adjusted the heating or air conditioning to keep her room at a comfortable temperature for her 24 hours a day. This watch is strong enough to survive packing and shipping back and forth. to the hospital, he fell 3 feet onto the tile floor and was not fractured. The battery has lasted two DSTs, and the seconds display means I'm syncing them closely to the NIST atomic clock. I'm still using the first battery I put in almost 10 months later and having just set it for Daylight Saving Time I found it was only off for a few seconds. For a battery-powered device, that's impressive. My car clock loses more accuracy than this one. In general, understand what this simple thing really is, what it is intended for and no more, and you will be very pleased. I.
