Needs the right mug
Seems to work but you really need a flat bottomed mug to keep your drink warm/hot. I found that some mugs that were thick and/or had a very small bottom area (rimmed at the bottom or tapered to a narrow base) didn't heat well. None of my mugs have a flat bottom, and many of them are thick ceramic, so this didn't work out the way I wanted it to.
