The puppy escaped him
Worked about a month. Then while visiting family at an RV park with my dog, my 4 month old pup came loose when the latch failed. I thought it was an accident, or maybe the clasp on the leash somehow knocked him. I put it back on and it pulled it out twice more. I immediately threw it away and bought a better one at the pet store where I could see for myself the quality I was getting. It's not safe. You get what you pay for.
