99% of the carpets I see and see end up just being a source of dirt getting into the home, not something to help remove the dirt. Not so with this doormat! The thick fiber brush is wound on a wire spool. Dirt scraped from your shoes/boots ends up directly on the floor instead of settling on the surface or embedding into the carpet's fiber only to later make its way into the house. Dirt goes straight through with these wire spool designs. . You can just pick it up from time to time and clean underneath with a shovel and brush, or put a drip tray underneath and drop the tray from time to time. I've done both and both work perfectly. The only problem might be that it's easy to move as it sits on stiff fibers. It's also easy to put it back in place with your foot, so NBD. The tray attachment, if used, helps keep the mat where you want it.
