I needed a replacement 1/4” bit for my Irwin Marples bit set. This is for a new style of molded plastic handle that comes in a beautiful wooden box for a complete set. I know some people don't approve of the new style as they are made in China not England but I like them. The steel is very hard and keeps the blade sharp for a long time. I don't know what hardness they are on the scale but it should be there because these chisels are definitely not mild steel. The molded blue handle fits my hand perfectly, not too big and not too small. Because the handles are molded, I can hold the handle without much effort and don't have to worry about my hand slipping on the sharp blade. cheap bits. These are precision woodworking chisels, not construction/demolition chisels designed to be hit with a big hammer.
