Review on Crankbrothers M10 Multi-Tool with Protective Case by Eric Fuego

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just great. Highly recommended for you and other cyclists you know.

Yes, it weighs about an ounce more (mine is 154 grams) than the box and specs say, but then I weigh a lot more than I should, so I'll work on shedding the grams first. For the xenophobes, it's made in Taiwan, which is probably where your bike was made. The adjustment of the tools to the equipment of my bikes (Jones 29+, ICE-Trike, Santa Cruz) is just great; I prefer it to the two Park multi tools I have, although I wish the hex wrenches had round ends. The wrenches I've used so far have a very secure grip; I don't know Torx yet. The fact that there's no knife blade, as one reviewer laments, is a plus for me as I still have a Leatherman multi-tool with blades and extra bits; Great setup for multi-day trips or sweeper work. I bought a few of these primarily as gifts for serious mountain bikers in my area, Monterey Bay, California. The feedback from them so far has been overwhelmingly positive. The tool perfectly withstands the sometimes salty, often sandy and sometimes foggy conditions in which we ride. I assume it will work fine in other conditions. A sophisticated, well-made tool that I don't ride without.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
