Review on Magnum Balancing Off Road Tires Compatible by Paul Powell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If you can DIY, that's great!

Fair warning: This entire review, with the exception of the last paragraph, will be about internal balancing in general, not this specific product. But let's start. I have used other internal balancing systems in the past. I prefer this to fixed wheel weights for several reasons: 1. To be honest number one is pure vanity: the wheel just looks cleaner with no chunks of lead! 2. Tires wear unevenly during their lifetime due to cornering, curbs, different rubber density throughout the carcass, tread cracking, etc.3. Stones that get stuck between the treads and are then thrown out after a few hundred kilometers drastically change the balance of the tires, but only for a short time compared to the tire's lifespan. Our caravan can sit for 6 months and get serious flat spots affecting dynamic balance during the first few hundred miles of a trip but not after that. Static balancing weights do not take this into account; dynamic compensation does.5. The tires are rebalanced on rotation EVERY TIME you come to a complete stop and then accelerate again over 30 mph. But you only need to pay for the balancing beads ONCE! How cool is that?!?6. This may only apply to a handful of us who have the appropriate gear, which is why I left this for last as it is least relevant to 90% of review readers: I can mount and dismount my own tires at home, but I can't even them out after installation, so I still have to pay the tire shop. 😖 Waste of time and money. 😤 With internal balancing systems, I can now completely cover my tire needs at home. I call it "Less Schwab, More Corey". 🤣 [Left Bank residents will understand this pun.] These beads are just what I needed. Then when they "dissolve" I will post an additional review with any problems I encounter. So far I've mounted and balanced 6 tires in about an hour - I couldn't even get to the front of the tire shop that fast!
