The Coffee Maker Itself: This is a simple coffee maker with a physical switch. It brews well, there is a reusable filter. I also prefer to use it with a paper filter because a reusable filter alone will make the coffee a bit cloudy like any metal reusable filter. For me, as the only coffee drinker in the house, it brews the perfect amount. I grab one before I go to work and then refill my coffee on the go. Turn it into a "smart coffee maker": Since it has a physical on/off button, you can leave it on and use the smart coffee maker. Plug to control when it's off and on. I bought this set of smart plugs when they were on sale and one of them works great with this coffee maker. I can also turn it off using my phone or Alexa. I can even see from work if I accidentally left it on with my phone on and need to turn it off. This machine's simplicity and physical switch make it a smart machine with the right settings. I prefer this method to buying a more expensive timed coffee maker because: 1. I'm starting to use Alexa for everything2. It fits different wake-up times (I just push a button or tell Alexa to turn on the coffee when I get dressed upstairs, at 5:30 or 8:30 depending on the day)3. No need to program a timer or permanently set the clock on the machine4. Once set up, it is very easy to use. I recommend this coffee maker and setting to anyone who wants a coffee ready in the morning or someone like me who doesn't need the usual 12 cups of coffee.
