Review on πŸ“ Shinwa Japanese Stainless Protractor: Accurate Degree Measurement Tool by David Herman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good enough for the average home workshop or general retailer

This item has been manufactured in China, allegedly to the specifications, standards and expectations of the well known and respected Japanese company Shinwa. Among the reasonably good quality tools available, it is inexpensive, convenient, accurate, and more than adequate for marking key squares in the typical home workshop or the occasional carpenter, jack of all trades, etc. Are there better, stronger, more accurate protractors? Are there more expensive protractors? Of course. This model is no less accurate than most non-digital protractors, but it is probably more accurate than other similarly priced analog protractors, especially plastic ones, which can wear down the axis. You make your choice and pay money accordingly. The metal of this stamped steel protractor is strong enough for everyday use. The markings are well done - sharp, clear and dark - and easy to read and align. The lever or bar is straight on the ruler and strong enough to remain accurate barring unforeseen accidents. The handle allows for an easy and quick tightening to lock the angle for reuse in a specific project. Overall, and for the price, this protractor is a decent tool that should work well and should last for years with proper care. Good business.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
