Review on GG Grand General 75861 Amber/Clear 5-1/8 Inch Ultra Thin 6 Led Light by Rich Rickenbaugh

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not suitable as a turn signal for low/high beam.

At 12.5 V, low draws 30 mA, high mode draws 80 mA. Disadvantages: 1. If you use this light as a running light + indicator, the difference between the two brightness levels is hardly noticeable. The necessary contrast values are missing to draw the attention of other drivers. The "High Power" feature just isn't powerful enough. .Turn signals with low/high function should have a brightness ratio of 1:20, ie the high value should be 20 times brighter than the low value. 30/80 milliamps shows that this is clearly not the case.2. If you only use this light as a turn signal, its performance is satisfactory. Like a parking light or a turn signal (but not both), it stands out. Like both, it's not effective or safe (in my opinion). Pros: 1. The beam pattern is nice and wide, slightly wider than most 6" oval/4" round LED lights.2. Grand General includes 3m tape + mounting screws.3. The clear lens amber color is still very amber. Conclusion: Good as a turn signal or parking light, but not as a light that should be able to do both. Also, I wouldn't describe this lamp as "high power". . Possibly medium performance. It's certainly as bright, if not brighter, than most "supplemental" LED lights on the market today. This flashlight has no DOT mark on the front.
