Review on πŸ”₯ Empava 30 Inch Gas Stove Cooktop: Efficient 5-Burner Stainless Steel Design with Italy Sabaf Sealed Burners for Superior Cooking Performance by Simon Connelly

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great price and great optics!

In my case, I bought both this hob and one of their wall ovens and built my own island to suit both. The only reason I didn't give the hob 5 stars is that there are some small flaws in the installation of the hob that can be fixed with a few minor tweaks: #1 If you're using LPG (propane gas), you must only installing the holes , you need to separate the glass top from the stamped metal base (by removing the stamped plates under the cast iron grates, only 2-4 screws each) to gain access to the control valves. Ignite the flame, turn it down to minimum, then reduce it even more to use LP. (which has more BTUs than gas). This also greatly improves the resolution of the flame. It's not a big deal, but I had to email Empava multiple times before someone was kind enough to send me a video showing the process. (The language was kind of Asian, maybe Vietnamese? It didn't matter though, I found out what the issue was) #2 The regulator that came with this unit stinks. As someone else pointed out, to convert from a "G" (European) thread to the NPT material we use here in the US, you need to buy a fitting, and if you're trying to use their regulator, you have to 2 of them buy fittings. Also, it takes up valuable space when you use it under the hob and over the oven. So instead I bought a two stage regulator that plugs directly into my 100 lb propane tank and provides exactly what I need on the stove. (11" wc) If they had better instructions for converting to propane and provided the proper fittings to use 1/2" NPT and a regulator I would give it 5 stars. But now I'm definitely glad that everything has it and you're good to go. One last point, the igniter uses 110v but the oven I replaced was only 240v so I used a step down transformer to get the voltage needed for the same hob and it would be nice if they do it here too would. I'm very happy now, looks good and works great.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
