Review on Hydronix SPC 25 1005 Polyester Pleated Filter by Francisco Garcia
Cannot be a 5 micron filter
Just replaced my 5 micron straight wall filter with this pleated filter hoping to benefit from the increased surface area. We use tap water from rural Hawaii and this is the main filter for the whole house. Our drinking water is reverse osmosis, so the water in the main house must be clean but not potable. An old 5 micron Aquabon filter made the water clear. It's not like this. The water is yellow and the filter doesn't hold its shape under pressure - it sticks out in the middle. This is not a true 5 micron filter.
