Description of Hydronix SPC 25 1005 Polyester Pleated Filter

Sediment filter for a water filtration system. 2.5" OD and an overall length of 9-3/4". Non-woven polyester for resistance to chemicals and bacteria with a polypropylene core and vinyl plastisol end caps. Particle retention size of 5 micron. Operating temperature range of 40 to 125 degrees F.

Disappointing Water Filter for Industries

After trying this industrial and scientific water filter I must say that I am quite disappointed. The filtration process is too slow and does not do AN adequate job of removing impurities. The polyester material also feels flimsy and cheap. The only positive aspect is the pleated design, which does increase the filter's surface area. Overall, I would not recommend this product for those in need of reliable water purification..

Cannot be a 5 micron filter

Just replaced my 5 micron straight wall filter with this pleated filter hoping to benefit from the increased surface area. We use tap water from rural Hawaii and this is the main filter for the whole house. Our drinking water is reverse osmosis, so the water in the main house must be clean but not potable. An old 5 micron Aquabon filter made the water clear. It's not like this. The water is yellow and the filter doesn't hold its shape under pressure - it sticks out in the middle. This is not a…
