Before buying, I read most of the reviews on this product, especially the negative ones with a low rating. I have seen that every bad review is due to each customer stating that the unit they bought and only used once was not boiling water due to the high heat cut off and it took up to several hours to get one pot of water boiled? Several hours? I wasn't sure how this was possible as it seemed sufficient and was considered by most that there would be no problem cooking food including meat that needs to be at a certain internal temperature in order to be declared fully cooked will. 1800w is quite a lot of power for a 120v unit and was my main concern as I can't afford high electricity bills. After receiving this product, I checked the boiling water issue first as most people want to use it for this purpose, especially a lonely guy like me who eats a lot of pasta and likes to cook quickly without much cleaning. I used a smaller amount of water, about 2 1/2 cups, to test this and the H2O pot came close to boiling but didn't get there due to the heat cutoff. It was clear that it would never boil that high, but the plant was running at full speed. Instead of saying it's a piece of junk I used my working brain to troubleshoot this issue and knew there was a solution since most people cook things that require 2-3 cups of water. High heat should be turned off from time to time to avoid overheating of the device which can damage or destroy elements if not adjusted, but the water cannot maintain the temperature if the heat is turned off constantly. If you see steam rising from a pot of water and the water isn't boiling or is even boiling, just remember that the heat goes where the temperature is cooler, like when you shower with the door or curtain open, so keep it it closed, right? The same applies here, and how do you keep the pot warm? Yes, cover the pot with a lid while you bring it to a boil! It won't cook for more than 5-7 minutes if you keep the pot covered and don't immediately write a bad review and call it useless junk. I mean wow! It took me 5 minutes to figure this out and honestly it's common sense. It's unbelievable to me that so many people are saying this and it shows how ignorant and simple-minded some people are. Instead of trying to fix the problem and just going straight to their manifests on the web to complain and whine about one of the easiest devices to use, they didn't seem to want it to work, just dismissed something negative write to support your personality. Your standard stove nominally uses 220-240v, so obviously a 120v portable burner will need more latent heat to achieve the same result. Holding the heat in the pot increases the temperature of everything in it, even the water, and retains that heat even when the burner is off. It's very annoying to see how many times the same thing has been written, just laziness and lack of common sense are driving me insane. I know it probably hurts them to think about anything other than the likes they got on Facebook about their cat licking itself, so maybe you shouldn't have this device anyway, as it's for these jerks is too advanced. And once it boils, you can even remove the lid and it will continue to simmer, preventing it from boiling over and splashing water to lower the level. I'm not trying to be smart, I'm just confused when I see people instantly go into hysteria because they don't understand the basic physics of things, I mean how could you ever complete an order for this thing. Not even my product and it offends me. Just a realist so I gotta point these clowns to the attention of their bullshit seekers. Just stick to your fast food and keep pretending to be a smart person, it's definitely paying offπ€£π€£
