Review on Peugeot Elis Sense u'Select Electric Salt & Pepper Mill Set - Stainless: Premium Convenience and Style for Perfectly Seasoned Meals by Lawrence Reuter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A year and a half later, still a “Reliable Set”

This powerful duo has only arrived today, but so far the performance has been outstanding. Loading the salt and pepper grinder into the grinder is fairly easy, as is inserting the included batteries. There are two retaining clips that you slide towards the center of each grinder. This will allow the motor assembly to slide out of the housing. The batteries are arranged in pairs in recesses in the motor. The polarity is clearly marked. To put the motors back into the housings, the guide must be aligned with the slot countersunk in the motor. You will only go in one direction. I am very pleased with the VOLUME of pepper and salt these grinders produce. You are not skinny at all. You'll get as much salt and pepper as you want pretty quickly. I bought them mainly because I like freshly ground pepper when cooking and I like being able to add it with one hand. As for the consistency of the grind, I made a short video showing each of the pepper settings. This gives you an idea of how consistent and fast they are. I will update this review if anything changes. UPDATE: We have had a pair since October 2017 and it is now March 2019. I have to say both grinders work like new, have proven to be reliable and can withstand the abuse of their grandchildren. Little ones love to get up and squeeze the tops to hear how they work and we dropped one of these on the floor with no damage. I guess we're lucky there. I think one of the questions I had when I ordered the set was "How long will the batteries last?" The answer for us is about a year for pepper and possibly longer for salt. The pepper mill was the main reason we go there and it has many more uses (freshly ground pepper is more in demand here than freshly ground salt, of course). The salt mill still runs on the original batteries and we replaced the batteries in the pepper mill at the end of 2018 because I noticed that it was slowing down a bit. Very happy with them so far.
