Review on Trailer Taillights Grommet Waterproof Running Exterior Accessories by Matt Heringer

Looks nice! - Lighting

I bought two sets of headlights (red/amber and red/white) for my 280ZX (because stock taillight lenses are expensive) and they look great. Warning: They come with no instructions, nothing. No paperwork, nothing to indicate which wire does what. As others have pointed out they do NOT use a standard trailer light plug. Instead, the wires are hardwired to the light. I'm ok with this as it means I can plug in Deutsch plugs for my needs. Here's how the wiring works for these lights: Red/Amber set: Black = common ground Brown = +V for red navigation lights Red = +V for brake lights (brighter than running lights) Amber = +V for amber turn signals Red/White Set: Black = common ground Brown = +V for red running lights Red = +V for brake lights (brighter than running lights) White = +V for white with these flashlights are too complex to actually use. Do yourself a favor and buy good branded grommets (Grote, Superbright, Optronics etc.) and use those instead. I'm wondering if the built in damping resistor on the running light cable helps to lower their brightness level to create a greater contrast in brightness compared to brake lights.

Pros
  • LONG LIFE - Use Deluxe LED, 16 super bright LEDs (Red: 10 LEDs, Yellow: 6 LEDs), better than ordinary light bulbs. Can be used more than 50,000 hours. and significantly increases the visibility of the equipped car.
Cons
  • boring packaging
