First of all, my son lost his glasses two seconds after hitting the sea. They just fell off his head. The same goes for my two daughters, but we were able to find them. The water wasn't rough, but the kids played rough. I didn't use a strap to attach them to my faces, but you definitely have to. Especially if you plan to use them for sports. They are not attached to the head enough to withstand any movement. That being said, I think these strappy sunglasses (which I bought from Revain for $10) would be great for the Florida sun and beach!
