Good, but not the best T-Nuts

For securing motorcycle chocks to trailer floor: some turn with light to medium torque; Some get stuck and never let the bolt come out. Claws or ears are not as strong as we would like. Not good, you have to grind the heads of the screws and knock out the crackers. More than half worked as it should.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes

I've used dozens of these and haven't had any problems so far.

I've used dozens of these over the years and they're good. Although I always use anti-seize on stainless steel hardware, I have had no problems with chafing. That's more than I can say for the large amount of stainless steel hardware I've used over the years. I will continue to buy them when needed. Looks like I'm on my third batch.

Worked well on a custom kitchen cabinet

I custom made a large pantry/spice drawer with a vertical divider in the middle. I could no longer use a standard 8/32 screw to attach the front of the door. I used this t-nut and 8/32X1-1/4 set screw and it worked fine. I added a dab of polyurethane glue and finished screwing in the t-nut with the old head to evenly distribute the hammer blows to all three points.

  • Hands Free

Exactly how they should be

These slot nuts are exactly how they should be. They worked exactly as expected. When hammered into a pre-drilled hole, the ribs will cut into the wood properly. Screws are properly tightened. I haven't had it long enough to test the Stainless Steel trait. I don't "love" them, hence only four stars. How do you like the metal mother? But I am completely satisfied with these stainless steel t-shirts. No complaints. I would like to buy again.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Will not fit all

I was very disappointed when I used these on a project that required 188 t-nuts and found that these stainless steel t-nuts could be connected with stainless steel bolts. The sticking and tearing rate was about 10% even with light lubricating oil. When I switched to Zinc T-Nuts, I got 0% sticking or crossing threads. The difference was day and night.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • There are flaws

Great Blinds/T Nuts

Summary: Ordered these for occasional home projects. A project I will be using this for is installing a paper towel dispenser under an overhead cabinet. While I could just screw it in, I want to make sure it doesn't pull through the wood, so it's best to use blind/T-nuts on the inside of the cabinet. Pros: Good fit and finish; made of stainless steel, so that they are always nearby and can also be used outdoors. Disadvantages: none. Bottom line: $9 for 25, that's .36 each, but worth it if you…

Superb stainless steel version

I've used T-Nuts for decades to mount gear on my plywood perches where below deck access with a wrench is extremely difficult. The first time I only used galvanized ones and had to grind down the head of the bolt due to solid rust from the wet environment. After that it became all stainless steel and never had any problems. Simply hand tighten the nut until it makes firm contact with the plywood, then tighten the bolt from the top. Tighten regularly to allow the teeth to penetrate deeper into…

Great for replacing the bunks on my boat trailer.

I use when changing boat trailer berths. I hate it when lousy wooden studs come loose after a few years, so I decided to find a more reliable solution. I clamp the new boat moorings in place, drill the correct size hole (3/8 in this case) from the bottom push up bracket up through the mooring board and out the top of the mooring. Take a 1 inch spatula and make an indentation in the top hole where the t-nut will sit. Drive in the T-nut with a hammer. Cover the bunks with your desired bunk…
