The Eva Roman bathtub faucet I bought came with the valves soldered but as I have little experience with this and wanted a different handle configuration for my bathtub corner I went for it and am so glad i did it. If you watch the installation video on Moen's website, you'll also see the triangular handle-spout-handle configuration that can only be achieved with this kit. This is a brilliant idea if you're short on space. I placed the handles a little further forward than the spout which gave me better access to the tub as it gave me an extra 1-2 inches so it's easy to install and no soldering is required. The connections haven't seen any leaks yet.
