Review on πŸš€ Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS Space Sim Duo: A High-Performance Windows Controller for Simulated Space Exploration by John Murphy

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Keep reading but short and sweet if you want the best HOTAS that .

Quality, precision and functionality. This is the main difference between this HOTAS and all other HOTAS under $400. If you want to know why, read on, but if you want the best HOTAS that give you 6 degrees of movement for less than $400, then this is for you. You can buy a Thrustmaster Warthog and a set of quality pedals for over $400, but the jump in price doesn't justify the difference you're getting IMO, but you can go that route. Now on how we got here, Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous. and DCS have revived the market for these HOTAS units. For a long time there were no new HOTAS installations on the market because there were no games that would justify the manufacturers' investment. Things have changed and this is the first HOTAS rig built from the ground up for the games people need it for. The joystick is a redesign of the T.16000, which was there but didn't need to be changed at all, and the throttle grip is all new and lavish. The build quality is excellent and the size is just right to fit on your desk along with your mouse and keyboard. The weight distribution is precise so it stays in place when playing and everything is very precise. I have used X52 and X52 Pro and I have X55, they are ALL overpriced now. If you looked at them a year ago they were all at least $50 cheaper than now and THEN they were overpriced for the products you get. Saitek only raised prices because people started buying them. I also put CH products in this category after seeing their HOTAS teardown; it is higher quality than Saitek but still overpriced. At Thrustmaster, you get what you pay for. Bottom line, for under $400, there's no competition for the quality, accuracy, and functionality you get with HOTAS.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
