I'm so glad I bought the unbreakable ones because it would be very tiring to install the glass bulbs. I made 8 foot poles in pots filled with concrete to make bases for them, tied two pieces of rope together and hung them around the yard to decorate the area. The light is soft and romantic. The plastic bulbs have been in the sun for almost a month now and I don't notice any yellowing. But I will say they attract bugs like no other. The summer humidity made the bugs multiply faster, and these lanterns, like a beacon, brought a bunch of flying ants to our garden. It was so bad I had to go inside. After this experience, I believe we will invest in insect repellents. Update: After the rain I noticed that water got into the lightbulbs. It didn't cause any electrical problems.
