This mug, after being used for about a week, now seems consistently best for use in a car cup holder and for people on the run. I'm only saying that because of the unreliable handle, which is great for picking up from underneath you (like a car cup holder, but it's a bit difficult to get it up to arm height. Overall, though, it's a well-designed mug. Some have mentioned, that the straw breakage issue is a concern for most. I will say that the straw itself is plastic but is quite durable and should last a long time providing you receive your product in good condition. If I should guess the question, whether whether The manufacturer is responsible for the correct packaging of the product, possibly the reason for the previous reviews of both companies, which, apparently (according to previous reviews), blame each other for errors.I will say that the mug comes with almost no packaging , and the straw is fully intact, assuming the Amazon gods would notice this "lack" of packaging, wi e could I describe the packaging of the product (or lack of it)? Please note that this item does not usually survive shipping and we take a few precautions to ensure it arrives safe and sound. This product is packaged for sale in a store, not for sale online. It looks well packaged on the shelf of your grocery or department store, but tossing it in an internet box is a whole different story. I will mention anecdotally that I ordered another stainless steel thermos which was fully wrapped in straw and all and arrived with no problems. It all depends on how you package the product and luck and luckily mine arrived with no problems despite literally just floating in the box. But it is a good cup! Mine hasn't had any heat leak issues and keeps the ice completely frozen for 12+ hours so it's decent compared to other similar mugs I've had. The exterior feels nice, and while the handle is a bit awkward when fully loaded with drinks, I can't say I don't like this mug. If I were to suggest the manufacturer to make a second model with a handle closer to the center and also add more packaging as Amazon (IMHO) is not responsible for making ALL the packaging for you no matter how beautiful your mug is. I know I can sound a bit short or abrupt when I type, but that's how I sound when I type. I really enjoy this mug. I'm a bit of a critical person, so take my thoughts with a pinch of salt. I hope they gave some insight into the so-called "straw problem" that others have mentioned.
