So first. This was my first 144Hz monitor upgrade. It was a lot smoother and made shooters like Apex Legends much better in terms of visual clarity. I first found this monitor used by many top tier Apex streamers like Aceu and I think Imperialhal too. iitztimmy uses a similar, but not exactly the same. For these reasons and because of the mostly positive reviews, I decided to do it. I immediately saw that it was a lot brighter than my 144Hz unit I had upgraded from, which was the Asus tuf VG249q. I turned the brightness down to about 40% and left it there most of the time I had it and it's actually still very bright. This was my only complaint until a few days ago. I was playing Apex Legends as usual and at some point in the game the bottom third of my screen became blurry with a very distinct line running horizontally across my screen. Everything below that line was blurry, and if you looked closely the blur was caused by the horizontal lines running down the bottom third of the screen being harder to see, as well as some flickering. I bought this monitor in February of this year and have had it for less than 8 months to date. Without the mentioned issue, the monitor gets a bright 4/5 and my only real issue is the default brightness and no color on screen, which is to be expected given it's a TN panel. .I just sent the monitor back for an RMA today and am hoping to get it back fixed or maybe a new monitor of the same type. While researching my specific problem, I saw a post on Reddit that almost exactly described my problem. May update this review when I get a repaired or new monitor. Thank you for your attention! Pros: Gameplay is buttery smooth. Deacon. Great for FPS games. Super responsive. minuses. Very bright by default.
