Bought for my younger brother. He has a lamp on his shelf that he didn't turn off because it was in one of those places he'd rather leave alone than turn it on and off every day. So mama took this and plugged it into the socket next to his bed, instantly turning it on and off, well! A problem with a simple solution. Mom took a second one and added it to my LED lights and placed the switch where I could reach instead of having to plug and unplug them every day. It's only 3 feet now, there are longer ones, but that was all we needed to get the job done. I'll buy more if needed. I would add that there is a slow, very tiny delay, but you get used to it, you press the button and after a second or two the backlight turns on.
