Surprising for a lamp switch

Bought for my younger brother. He has a lamp on his shelf that he didn't turn off because it was in one of those places he'd rather leave alone than turn it on and off every day. So mama took this and plugged it into the socket next to his bed, instantly turning it on and off, well! A problem with a simple solution. 6ft cable clamp too close to wall

Knob too close to plug end of cable. After reading some reviews I thought it was just a problem with the 3ft version, but it's not. I purchased a 6 foot version of the cable which is currently out of stock. Another user asked where the clicker button is located on the 6ft cable. Most of the answers said halfway at the 3 foot mark. That's not the case. The button is about 21 inches from the connector end of the cable. Maximm cable 3ft internal 3 outlets extension cord with footswitch. I bought these devices for an old friend, teacher and colleague in the 80's who suffers from spinal stenosis, back pain and sciatica issues.
