Review on πŸ”¨ Estwing Ultra Hammer: Top-Quality Genuine Leather Industrial Power & Hand Tools by Kevin Hawkins

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Paint damage and rust. It is a fake?

The finish on this hammer is terrible. The handle is in better shape than the rest of the hammer, but still not perfect. In some places there are scratches, bumps and traces of hardened mucus. The black paint is cracked and it even looks like something has been sanded or rubbed off in some places as if there was no quality control during assembly. All other cheap tools I buy are coated in a thin film of oil to prevent rusting. For a company that prides itself on making tools from the finest steel in America, you might think this would be obvious. Listen, tools wear out, but you expect more than that from the start. I suspect rust is largely a fault of Revain's storage environments, but the manufacturer should take that into account when packaging. I wasn't impressed with this tool at all. Zero wow factor out of the box. That being said, I'll be hammering this piece of metal into a few thousand nails over the next week or so, so maybe I'll update my review afterwards.
