Review on High-Performance Cobra HH 38 WX ST: 4-Watt 40-Channel CB Radio with Enhanced Range by Will Schimmel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good reception even in dense forest/forest/forest

Buying an extended antenna is strongly discouraged; it should be. I have a metal telescopic antenna that goes out 51 inches. With the antenna extended, I was able to communicate at a distance of about 1 mile from another portable device, even in a low valley in the woods. These are quality radios, but with CB radios it all depends on the length of the antenna. I think on a flat surface with no obstructions these radios can easily go over 1 mile if you have an extended antenna. The transmissions are also clear and the radios are well built and seem to take a beating. I have not tested the car conversion to CB radio with a magnetic antenna on the car roof. I would argue that a wearable device is noticeably limited in a vehicle as it picks up a lot of static noise in a vehicle. Overall a good product and has acceptable range in woods, woods and off-road if you plan to use these radios for quad biking or other outdoor activities. I will recommend them to friends. use these radios for quad biking or other outdoor activities. I will recommend them to friends. use these radios for quad biking or other outdoor activities.
