I had one of the whirly pop types that was dented and broken after years of use. While this brand was fine, I wanted the popcorn pot to be a bit stronger than a Whirly pan and also non-stick and could be more versatile for uses other than popcorn since I have a small kitchen. The Zippy Pop fits the bill and works really well to pop the corn quickly without sticking or burning. I really like the clear lid with the "hole" at the top because after the corn you pop in a few sticks of butter to melt it and twist the handle to cover the popcorn. Pretty good! I even made her caramelized corn recipe (see picture) which was messier LOL! but still easy to make with this skillet. This pot can also be used for a chex mix and the like, or anything where you need a large pot. It's a little pricey but I imagine it will last for many years. Note: This is slightly smaller than an unopened Whirly pan. He uses 1/3 of a grain to make about 5 cents of popcorn. You don't want to overfill much more than that or the lid will lift and you won't be able to flip the popcorn.
