If you have never changed your cabin air filter. it's time. Phew, all sorts of dust and leaves and these little fluffy tree seeds are stuck in the old. This is a new disposable air filter. I found a YouTube video of a guy replacing an almost identical GMC Sierra. It's quite a hassle to remove the glove box to get to the air filter, but an example really helps. Once the glove box is removed, installation is easy. However, I have found that the new filter is looser than the old one, but everything seems fine. After the installation something strange happened. The fan noise was very loud, like the filter was vibrating or something. I was concerned I would have to reopen things or maybe get a different filter because of the loose fit. But after a day or two, the noise magically stopped. Several months have passed and the problem has not recurred. Not sure what's going on, but for the price I'll probably order the same again when it's time for another change.
