The lens is "friendly" with any Nikon digital SLR camera that has a Nikon F mount. This means that you get exposure metering and other semi- and automatic shooting modes on both newer and older DX cameras. However, you will need to focus on younger cameras that have handles. This doesn't strike me as a very negative aspect. Working at 1.8, I would say that a lens with a search is sharp for a fifty bucks, or maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit, but it's quite possible to capture something in focus in LV from a monitor, and it can be done systematically. The convenience and simplicity with which this glass can be mounted on my Nikon D3300 is something that really appeals to me. In my opinion, this is an essential piece of equipment for every photography enthusiast. Just placing your hands and head on this lens will allow you to get an adequate level of artistic expression and sharpness, while simultaneously blurring the background. I wish you the best of luck with your photographs, your creative endeavors, and the execution of your ideas.
