Review on Premium Drilling Centering Alignment Shelf by Joe Bottomkent

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Surprisingly bad for the price.

1. No instructions other than those printed on the packaging.2. Rebuilt thrice and tried to keep the clear guides square to the adjustable frame - because from a unit like this you want all the holes square and lined up with the corresponding shelf pins on opposite verticals - but never managed to keep it square, and instead had to force it to become square with each new setting.3. Don't be fooled by the "technical" looks of this device: the custom looking black hex fasteners are designed to engage threads formed in the clear/plastic/guides, which is sketchy at best. If you have to pull together, loosen, and then reassemble (even three times, as in my case), you can expect one or more of these threads to break. Since the above issues started appearing on day one, I was already wanting to complain about it and possibly get a replacement. Then, after only about 400 holes had been drilled for this first small kitchen cabinet project (that's six cabinets worth), the 5mm SPLIT spring-loaded index nozzle came loose as it disassembled due to failure of the factory swage component. to spring-loaded components. Now I'm dead in the water and need to find a way to hobble the same distance and not be able to index large diameter holes in the jig. Avoid this gadget like the plague until it is updated in response to all of the above concerns.
