I recently changed the oil on my 2010 Mercedes E550 (W212 chassis) and tried it reset as usual oil change message in Assyst menu (very easy to do with Autel) but for some reason X7 couldn't do it. It showed an error message that this was not possible. The car's ECU responded with "7E" which means access denied, which in turn means the X7 cannot connect to the car's ECU in service mode. I tried the procedure several times to make sure it wasn't an accident but got the same message. Right now, the X7 doesn't even come close to Autel or Launch in terms of versatility. I'll try this feature again in the future when they update the software, maybe it will be fixed, but for now I don't recommend it at all. Original review: I have an Autel MaxiDas DS808 (2018 version) and AP200 (2020 version - very slow) and if I didn't see the logo on the tablet case I would think it's a newer version from Autel. However, I have noticed that this X7 is faster than my DS808 in most cases, even though they use similar hardware and the software looks almost identical to Autel's. The functionality corresponds to its claim to be able to communicate with all modules. in almost every car. I tested it on a 2010 Mercedes E550 which I know has 49 separate modules and the X7 was able to connect to all of them and get live data, codes and in some cases even allow certain actions (dynamic mode in VGS3 -Module). It's definitely not as efficient as my DS808, which can do variant coding on the same computer, but it's also about $500 cheaper than my Autel and comes with an extra 6 months of updates (18 total) versus Autel's 12 months Tobe offered . If they add support for a few more brands in the Encoding section, this might be a better choice between them. Launch isn't far behind with its $450 bidirectional offerings. I liked that it also offers graphics options superior to my old 808 and makes it very easy to scroll through the chart timeline. , some menus are imperfect or broken as trying to figure out what it may or may not code for specific makes and models is a chore and for the most part completely useless. I couldn't find the W212 chassis model at all, the drop down menu didn't load specific brand models. To be fair, this used to be a problem with the DS808 as well. The reason I took the smaller P200 for comparison when certain features are needed is because it's cheaper to buy $60 for $200 and add another brand for about $22 if you don't need to scan all the vehicles and only need two or three brands. They have the same functionality. Compared to the similarly capable Autel mk808, the X7 can do 95% of what's later possible for half the price. If they keep improving the coding capabilities, this will be a serious alternative to Autel if you're into customization, special codes, and features. or a small workshop.
