You really need this tool

Just plug it into the car, I didn't bother to read the manual - the interface is very simple and intuitive. This scanner reads about 23 different categories of my 2011 135i (e88 55). and found several bugs. My car would not go to "idle" - while driving the car suddenly started moving like a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine, the engine light came on and the error message "run at reduced power" appeared on the screen. Using the information from the scanner I just googled the error messages and numbers and after reading various articles I was able to narrow it down to a problem with the "loading tube" and sure enough, the tube broke and slipped off. Not mechanical at all. inclined, but it looks like a simple replacement part, so I bought a replacement and will install it myself rather than paying a mechanic 1-2 hours to install, plus a percentage markup that the store adds to the part itself. This scanner almost paid for itself the first time I used it.
