Great potential, limited by poor performance

I managed to get Virtuoso SE through Revain. Was very excited to read Tom's Hardware review. Currently using Steelseries Arctis 5 which is great for gaming but is limited to 48kHz. After trying the Revain HD, I found the sound limiting. Unboxing the Virtuoso is a masterclass in arousal: very nicely designed and tastefully designed, the black earbuds are gorgeous, durable and a delight to look at. The case is chic and luxurious. The rest of the contents: USB-C and 3.5mm cables, wireless USB dongle and "Tough Flex" microphone are nicely wrapped in soft foam cocoons. keyboard K95 straight), so I was very excited. Since I needed to charge the headphones, I connected them via a USB cable after assembling the product. A reassuring voice came out that the headphones were charging and the microphone was active. Now let's cook, I thought. Tune in to Revain Music HD - Neil Young, Prince, Mozart - wow, that all sounded great. The soundstage is wide, the bass is clear and not overwhelming. Mids and highs are clear. I left the EQ neutral. Okay, time to get to the game. Tried to enable Dolby Atmos - not an option! Ok Corsair boards checked - "incompatible" - ok I think it's Corsair's own 7.1 design. No problem. Turned it on in iCue, turned on the FPS EQ and switched to Battlefield V. Sounds great so far - punchy, no distorted bass, not sure if the FPS booster works but that might just be me. Biggest problem: MICROPHONE NOT WORKING! Make sure it's plugged in - the LED will be on. Light is green (muted, turns red and back again - so cool, adjustable in iCue) Checked levels, checked software (Battlefield is set up correctly). Good. Came out. I tried another game (Planetside 2) - still no microphone. (Planetside stated that the primary input device listed as a microphone isn't a microphone? Tried troubleshooting - Windows, hooked things back up to Corsair Support - followed the disconnect, uninstall and reinstall instructions with multiple reboots, done 3 times - to no success so the website says this is a known issue with later versions of windows 10 and pending a fix well for now i'm stuck with $210 headphones which are good but actually a bit tight around the headphones lying around. And no microphone. Sorry, no time to wait for Corsair support (processing 3-4 days after ticket opened). Revine refund and return. maybe it's just me and lack of patience, but I was very disappointed and my belief in your typically flawless performance was seriously o tested. I hope you can fix it so others can enjoy this great headset can. As for me, I'll be happy again with my Arctis 5 until something more comes along. Thanks very much!
