The smoothness of my '07 Equinox has been improved so that the cause of the hard hits is now almost imperceptible. Tips: The bottom bolts are easy to loosen with a wrench at the back, the plastic wheel arch/fender has a 10mm fastener at the top that broke on one side and I had to snap off the other side. As long as you reinstall all the other plastic brackets, you don't have to worry about the two metal brackets.
